Brief Job Description (responsibilities, expectations, etc):
The Assistant will be responsible for helping adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities with daily life. This may include preparing and sharing meals with core members and other Assistants; passing medications (after becoming Medication Administration Level 1 certified); helping with hygiene routines (showering and/or toileting); helping core members achieve their goals; driving core members to appointments, jobs, day programs, family events, church, exercise facilities, and social gatherings (and staying and engaging with core member during these things); encouraging some core members to do physical therapy at home; light cleaning of kitchen and bathrooms and taking out trash and recycling; doing laundry with core members; doing things around the house with core members like baking, painting, playing Wii, knitting, watching sports, watching movies, playing basketball outside; and, possibly, working in the garden (if Assistant enjoys that).
