We are excited to welcome Jed Dearing as the new Interim Executive Director of the Episcopal Service Corps. Jed joins us from Columbus, Ohio, where he participated in the development of the Confluence Year Episcopal Service Corps Program in the Franklinton neighborhood, and continues to serve as their program director. Jed has contributed to the Episcopal Service Corps as a program director, representing ESC at recruitment fairs, serving on various committees, and as part of the coordinating team for the midwest regional ESC retreat. The ESC Board of Directors is glad to have Jed working alongside them to continue to develop ESC on behalf of young adults pursuing a life of service and justice which is linked to their faith through intentional community.
Jed also stays busy working with the Diocese of Southern Ohio establishing intentional communities and training pioneer ministers. Jed is passionate about intentional community, and worships with St. John’s Episcopal Franklinton, where he is a community organizer advocating against both unjust housing and policing in impoverished neighborhoods. He recently completed a pilgrimage across the UK visiting Anglican fresh expressions, intentional communities, and pioneer ministries while exploring the formation of ministers for these emerging communities of faith. Jed studied theology and business at Mount Vernon Nazarene University, and has a background in youth ministry, sales, and asset based community development.
